Outreach Opportunities

We strongly believe God wants to use Evergreen to reach our local community and even the world. We call this area of focus “Growing Wider in Influence.” Here are some of the current ways we are seeking to love and serve those around us:

Foundations Class A welcoming six-week class for anyone exploring the Christian faith or wanting to grow deeper in the basics of what we believe. Through teaching, discussion, and honest conversation, we walk together through foundational truths of Scripture in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

Mission to the Border We have had the privilege to serve Migrants who are seeking legal asylum in and throughout the USA by sending short-term mission teams to the Texas-Mexico region (Houston, Laredo, or Monterrey). We partner with a trusted ministry called “El Buen Samaritano Migrante”  to serve migrants and asylum-seekers—offering practical help, sharing the gospel, and showing Christ’s compassion to those in desperate situations.

Community Engagement Surveys: You may have seen our team out with a simple whiteboard asking straightforward questions like “Do you feel Valued?” or “Do you have Confidence?” These brief, friendly conversations in Old Town Manassas help us listen to our community, pray with people on the spot, and build real relationships.

Ladies Craft Ministry Our gifted knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers, and fiber artists meet regularly to create beautiful handmade items – baby blankets, prayer shawls, hats, and more. These gifts are donated to local pregnancy resource centers, nursing homes, and individuals walking through difficult seasons, each one carrying love and a reminder that they are seen and prayed for by our church family.

Community Easter Egg Hung Each spring, we host a free community Easter Egg Hunt at the playground behind Jennie Dean Elementary School. Hundreds of eggs, fun games, and plenty of candy make it a joyful morning for kids and families. While the children hunt, we have the chance to meet parents, listen to their stories, and share the hope and blessing of Jesus’ resurrection.

We’re always looking for new ways to serve and new friends to serve alongside! If you’d like to get involved in any of these outreaches (or have an idea for another), please reach out to Duncan Ferguson – we’d love to have you join us as we grow wider in influence together.
