What We Believe

Why Jesus?

Statement of Faith

The Trinity: We believe in God the Father, his son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

The Bible.  It is God’s infallible Word and the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

Sin.  Every person is created in God’s image but marred by an attitude of disobedience and rebellion toward God called “sin.”  Sin separates us from God and creates a fallen moral nature.

Salvation.  We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ.  Salvation is God’s free gift to us but everyone must choose to accept it.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Assurance.  True believers in Christ are assured of their salvation for eternity.
Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.

Heaven and Hell.  People are created to exist forever, either in Heaven with God or in Hell, separated and apart from God.

Who is a Christian? Someone who acknowledges their sinfulness before a Holy God, understands that their own good works or philosophy cannot bridge the separation between themselves and God, and trusts in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross as their sole basis of forgiveness.
