Church Wide Communications

To the Evergreen Faithful ….

As we all continue to navigate and adjust to the very fluid COVID-19 pandemic realities, we thought we should bring you up to speed on some critical updates:

First:  We will continue to Livestream our Sunday service @ 10 a.m. on Facebook.

Each week we will work to improve the logistics, technology and, most importantly, the Spirit-led content, equipping and encouragement.  This week we’ll continue with our series ‘THRIVE! Walking with Jesus in Uncertain Times.’  It will be Part 2 – Opportunity, where, using John 11 and the raising of Lazarus from the dead, we’ll discover how God wants to use these challenging circumstances as wonderful opportunities for individual and collective growth.

Second:  Small Groups have been launched on Zoom!

Almost all of our smaller gatherings have been able to meet mid-week online using digital meeting software called Zoom.  It’s fairly easy to use and as long as you have a camera on your cell phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer you can log on and see all the other participants.

Third:  Additional options are being explored!

We are investigating other options to keep us connected, for certain.  Pastors Tom, Daniel and Dave are reaching out to everyone connected within Evergreen to stay aware of any special needs.  We are also brainstorming ways to be outreach-minded and build bridges and plant seeds in our community.

Fourth:  Giving options are available.

We ask that you continue to give your regular tithes and offerings or even a one-time donation to help us continue to love and disciple people as Jesus would want us.   You can give by setting up automated draft payments through a financial institution, or by giving online on the Evergreen website here, or by mailing a check to Evergreen at P.O. Box 658, Bristow, VA 20136.

Fifth:  Take advantage of the Lenten Blog.

Each day during Lent we are providing a devotional based on the life of Christ and the gospel of John.  With less on our plates we have MORE time for solitude, prayer and exploring the Scriptures.  Dig in!!  Search for buried treasure!!!  It’s there and we need it more than ever!  Here’s the link:  And if you’d like the link and reminder texted to your cell phone (highly recommended) you can text the word ‘LentECC’ to 84576.

We leave you with this quote from General Douglas MacArthur:  ‘There is no security on this earth, only opportunity.’  We are excited and energized to explore these God-given opportunities with you all.
